Survey of UK secondary school teachers on behalf of BBC School Report on mental health.
  • Almost a quarter of teachers (23%) would not feel confident referring someone for mental health issues.
  • A third of teachers (34%) say they have had no formal training in normal psychological development in adolescence.
  • More than half of teachers say they would benefit from help identifying mental health issues (62%), and help providing support (68%).

ComRes interviewed 500 secondary school teachers online between 25th January and 6th February 2017. ComRes interviewed 205 secondary school teachers from schools partnered with BBC school report online between 6th February and 20th February 2017.
