PLMR Deficit Poll
Poll of 2,011 British adults for PLMR on what to do about the government's budget deficit.

More than half of Britons would like to see the government slow down (30%) or continue the current programme (24%) of public spending cuts as a way of addressing the budget deficit.

  • Just 7% of Britons believe the government should speed up the pace of spending cuts while twice that number (14%) want spending cuts to be stopped and public spending to be kept at broadly the same level as in 2014/15.
  • One in ten (10%) think the government should increase public spending regardless of the deficit.
