Survey of the British public on the state of their personal finances on behalf of R3
  • Two in five British adults (39%) say that they are at least fairly worried about their current level of debt. Credit card debt (47%) remains the primary cause of concern.
  • Economic pessimism continues to stand at a record low, with only 15% of Britons saying they expect their personal finances to worsen over the next six months.
  • Almost a quarter of British adults (23%) say that they have no savings at all at the moment.
  • Slightly more than a third of British adults (36%) say that they often or sometimes struggle to make it to payday, the lowest figure on record since tracking began in 2010.

Methodology
ComRes interviewed 2,013 British adults online between 8th and 10th January 2016. Data were weighted by age, gender, region and socio- economic grade to be representative of all GB adults. ComRes is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules.
