A survey of 2,022 British Adults on behalf of R3 on the state of their personal finances
  • Two in five (41%) British adults say they are at least fairly worried about their current level of debt
  • Credit card debt is the primary cause of concern for British adults who say they are at least fairly worried about their current levels of debt (50%)
  • Two in five (40%) British adults say they often or sometimes struggle to make it to payday
  • Of those who often or sometimes struggle to make it to payday, the cost of household expenses (excluding fuel), including food (56%) and energy (40%) are most frequently cited as reasons for financial strain

Methodology
ComRes interviewed 2,022 British adults online between 14th and 15th of August 2017. Data were weighted by age, gender, region and socio-economic grade to be representative of all British adults.
