  • Over three quarters (77%) of respondents said they would look for help from friends and family when making a major or difficult decision. Friends and family was selected by 81% of female respondents compared with 72% male
  • Over half (51%) of respondents said they would use online search engines or websites when looking for help
  • Around one in five (23%) respondents said they would speak to an expert when making a major or difficult decision. Interestingly 29% of male respondents selected ‘speak to an expert’ compared with 17% of females

ComRes interviewed 2076 British adults online between 4th and 5th October 2017. Data were weighted by age, gender, region and socio-economic grade to be representative of all GB adults aged 18+
