BBC Sunday Politics Green Councillors Survey
Poll of 56 Green Party councillors for BBC's Sunday Politics on election policies and Coalition preferences.
  • Almost all (96%) Green councillors think that Britain would be better off as a country if Trident was not renewed.
  • Around one in ten (11%) Green councillors also think that Britain would be better off if the UK economy shrank.
  • No Green councillors want to either join a Conservative led coalition or join them in a confidence and supply agreement in the event of a hung parliament.
  • The most popular outcome is to support Labour in a confidence and supply agreement (71%).
  • More than half (55%) of Green councillors think the top level of income tax should be should be over 50%.
  • Nine in ten (91%) Green councillors support banning cars from city centres.
