CLA Local Products Survey
Survey of British adults on behalf of the Country Land and Business Association (CLA) on the subject of local products and services.
  • On average, one in six British adults would prefer to purchase products made in the rural areas of their own region. Those in the South West are most likely to say that they would prefer to purchase products made in the rural areas of their region, and those in Wales and the South East the least (with the exception of London).
  •  The frequency of use of services in rural areas is relatively uniform across the country, with, on average, around a fifth in each region making use of services in their own local rural areas at least once a month. Pubs, restaurants, and cafés or farm shops are the services most likely to be used on a monthly basis by British adults in the rural areas of their region.
