Energy companies are more unpopular than banks, politicians or journalists, with seven in ten British people (70%) saying that they are unfavourable towards them.

Three quarters of the public (74%) say that they do not trust the “Big Six” energy companies.

Two thirds (65%) say that they are being ripped off by their household energy provider. A similar number (68%) say there is little competition in the sector.

Nearly four in five British people (78%) say that their household has not changed energy provider in the past three months. One in six (16%) have changed provider in this period, while 29% say they plan to change provider in the coming three months due to the recent increase in some energy prices.
