ITV News Index: Tax poll
Poll of over 2,000 Britons on politicians and tax for ITV News

As rows over the tax status of party donors rumbles on, a new ComRes poll for ITV News reveals that while three quarters (74%) of Britons think that it is morally wrong for people to try and pay less tax than they should be paying, around two thirds (68%) agree that everyone they know would like to find ways of lowering the amount of tax that they pay.

Three in five Britons (61%) agree that Ed Miliband is right to question how much tax donors to the Conservative Party pay, while just three in ten (29%) do not care how much tax political party donors pay. However, around four in five (82%) say it is no surprise high earners try to pay less tax.
